The Guild of Travel Management Companies (GTMC), the UK's leading professional body for travel management companies has announced that Mervyn Williamson, Joint Managing Director of Statesman Travel and Director of Travel Solutions International, has been appointed to their Executive Council from 18 January 2011.

GTMC Chief Executive, Anne Godfrey said: "The GTMC Executive Council is our working board and the members on it bring experience, expertise and knowledge of the UK's business travel sector. For such busy senior management to give up their time for the voluntary roles on the GTMC Executive Council shows a massive commitment to the business travel community that the GTMC represents."

Mervyn Williamson said of his appointment: "Being part of the GTMC Executive Council will give me the opportunity to make a contribution in an established forum for the travel management community. By sharing my experiences, information and knowledge in such a professional body, I will also be better equipped to advise my clients."
